Ladies, buckle up because we’re taking a thrilling ride through the fascinating world of your menstrual cycle! Your body is a powerhouse of hormones, and each phase brings its own set of surprises. Let’s dive in and explore how these hormonal shifts can influence your energy levels and productivity.

Menstrual Phase

Picture this: cozy blankets, your favorite book, and maybe a bit of chocolate. During your menstrual phase, estrogen takes a dip, dragging your energy levels down. It’s nature’s way of saying, “Hey, it’s okay to take it easy.” Embrace the chill vibes, say no to overcommitting, and catch up on some well-deserved rest.

How to Maximize Your Time During This Phase: Tackle challenging tasks, amp up your exercise routine, and socializing with friends.

Ovulation Phase

During this phase, estrogen and testosterone hit their peak. You’re on a natural high, feeling energetic and ready to conquer the world. It’s the perfect time for important conversations, team projects, and, if you’re trying to conceive, well, you know what to do!

How to Maximize Your Time During This Phase: Seize the moment for team tasks, engage in challenging conversations, and celebrate your peak energy.

Luteal Phase

As you transition towards the luteal phase, progesterone takes the lead. If pregnancy isn’t on the horizon, progesterone levels drop, leading to potential sluggishness. PMS symptoms might make an appearance, so it’s time for self-care and relaxation.

How to Maximize Your Time During This Phase: Embrace self-care, focus on lighter tasks, and indulge in a bit of pampering.

Understanding Your Cycle

Every woman’s body is unique, and understanding your cycle is the key to unlocking your full potential. Whether you’re a calendar tracker or an app user, knowing your patterns empowers you to navigate through the month with grace.

Bonus Tip: Keep a menstrual diary to track patterns and share insights with your healthcare provider for personalized care.

In a world that often overlooks the magic of the menstrual cycle, it’s time to celebrate the incredible journey your body goes through each month. So, embrace the highs and lows, listen to your body’s cues, and ride the hormonal rollercoaster like the queen you are!

Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba, has been temporarily suspended from the Senate until February 2024. The suspension comes as a result of a series of allegations made by Orwoba on a Senate WhatsApp group.

These allegations included claims of sexual impropriety, corruption, and kickbacks within the parliament. After conducting an inquiry, the Committee on Power and Privileges found that Orwoba failed to provide substantial evidence to support her allegations.

Consequently, her suspension is linked to a potential breach of Parliamentary Privilege due to the lack of substantiated claims. Among the allegations made by Orwoba were accusations of sexual favors, favoritism, and discrimination toward other senators.

She also posted messages on the Senate business WhatsApp group that were deemed disrespectful. The suspension will remain in effect for the remainder of the second session of the 13th Parliament, and Orwoba is expected to return in February 2024. It is worth noting that this is not the first time Senator Orwoba has attracted public attention, as a previous incident involving stained clothing during a session had sparked discussions.

Woman Kenyan Network has compiled a few more things you should know about Senator Gloria Orwoba.

Free sanitary bill: The nominated senator is determined to bring to an end period stigma, poverty, and shame hence her push forward a bill that would provide free and unlimited feminine hygiene products to women.

“My bill intends to have a standing act on the provision of sanitary towels to all school-going children and prisons,” she said.

Skilled in architecture: Before joining politics, Senator Gloria worked as a county coordinator in Global Youth Parliament in 2020. She has a Diploma in Architecture- Design, Build, and Construction Management and 15 years of total work experience.

She served as Country Manager for Rangi Yetu in 2021 before she became director of partnerships and fundraising for The John Agyekum Kufuor Foundation.

She has over six years of experience in Construction management and over three years in start-ups.

Gloria is a consultant at Meerkat Production Limited and has over ten years of experience in Facilities Management, Business Operations, and Project management.

Working with Facebook: Gloria was employed as Facebook Data Network Manager in Denmark until 2019 when she came to Kenya to contest for the Bobasi constituency MP seat in Kisii County. She lost during the party primaries to Joseph Onchiri.

From video vixen to nominated senator: Another interesting detail about Miss Orwoba is the fact that she was featured as a video vixen in an old-school song, Dem Wangu that was performed by Andre and produced by Mandugu Digital.
