<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong><em>The original graphic does not include the projected percentages. </em></strong></h4>

<p>A <a href="https://archive.ph/xDh5Z">digital card</a> allegedly attributed to NTV circulated widely on X (formerly Twitter)showing projections of the African Union Commission chairperson candidates have been altered. The graphic was shared alongside a post that read:” BREAKING: CONMAN Raila will Lose AUC Chairperson SEAT. It is no LONGER a secret!”</p>

<p>The graphic features the four AUC candidates seemingly with their corresponding ratings in percentages.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/docsz/AD_4nXehTT7Xw8O8kEsp99TTA7aJ7FvMbx8QmF7qCzvnCccWiwAsC3dKLOKUNOf-3yvaRO4wihBAN6gxQE4q-3_KNIYZ84j8D2U2nw9GfiDEnqd_ydKLrdNeafPWu231bzdKwpeIhNbtRRj67L84au6c2NDzNz4f?key=bl2Lf5-_TntyVlrlwXaSwg" alt="" style="width:607px;height:auto"/></figure>

<p>The card was also shared on other <a href="https://archive.ph/VVeqi">X</a> <a href="https://archive.ph/CQA9s">accounts</a>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kenya’s Raila Odinga, Mahmoud Ali Youssou from Djibouti, Anil Kumarsingh Gayan from Mauritius, and Richard James Randriamandrato from Madagascar are the four candidates vying for.</p>

<p>r the <a href="https://www.capitalfm.co.ke/news/2024/08/kenya-to-face-djibouti-mauritius-and-madagascar-in-auc-race/">African Union Commission&#8217;s</a> top seat, with elections expected to take place in February 202Woman Kenya Network conducted a comprehensive investigation and concluded that the projected percentages on the digital card were likely added onto the graphic, as revealed through <a href="https://archive.ph/h7QJd">forensic image analysis </a>on Fotoforensic.</p>

<p>Further investigation, using a <a href="https://archive.ph/Okn3t">reverse image search</a> on Google, led to a post on&nbsp; <a href="https://m.facebook.com/NTVKenya/photos/candidates-for-the-african-union-commission-chairperson/1064143475364866/">NTV&#8217;s Facebook</a> page with the original digital card, published on August 7, 2024. The authentic graphic only displayed the names, images, and countries of the AUC candidates. The digital card was also shared across other <a href="https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=344859942029067&amp;id=100095151920357&amp;mibextid=xfxF2i&amp;rdid=JUJCpv3LxzwGlgCk">social</a> <a href="https://archive.ph/PFL8w">media</a> platforms, including NTV&#8217;s official <a href="https://archive.ph/1lR2Y">X(formerly Twitter)</a> account.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1600" height="814" src="https://womankenya.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/image-3.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-8489" srcset="https://womankenya.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/image-3.jpeg 1600w, https://womankenya.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/image-3-300x153.jpeg 300w, https://womankenya.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/image-3-1024x521.jpeg 1024w, https://womankenya.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/image-3-768x391.jpeg 768w, https://womankenya.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/image-3-1536x781.jpeg 1536w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><em>Collage of altered graphic(L) and original digital card by NTV(R).</em></figcaption></figure>

<p>There’s no record of the graphic with percentages on NTV Kenya’s official channels.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Woman Kenya Network looked into a digital card allegedly attributed to NTV Kenya showing projections of the African Union Commission chairperson candidates and found it to be altered.&nbsp;</p>
